Simply put, Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle internal bath that helps deep cleanse the colon of toxins thereby encouraging the entire body to detoxify and return to a more normal, healthy state of well-being.
Colon Hydrotherapy is a valuable procedure used to assist the body with reversal of a multitude of health conditions, resulting from improper diet and years of poor elimination. The latest estimates show that over 90% of diseases in North America are directly or indirectly attributable to an unhealthy, congested colon. When colon health is compromised, waste backs up, becomes toxic, and releases the toxins through the bowel walls into the bloodstream. Cleansing the colon lightens the toxic load on every part of your body.
Following is the information on Colon Hydrotherapy. Please read it over and if you have any questions you may reach us at 604-737-1161. Suggestions to support the best Colon Hydrotherapy session:

After Colon Hydrotherapy
There are many different reactions that may be experienced after your session. While some people feel energized, with a renewed feeling of vitality, some report feeling cold, hungry, thirsty, or a little tired. These are considered normal reactions, as the colon has done a lot of work in a short period of time.
If you feel weak afterward, try having a cup of broth, electrolyte solution, or an herbal tea with honey to increase your blood sugar, and supply minerals where they are needed.
In order to be gentle on your digestive system, eat only clean and healthy vegan foods that are also easy to digest for the following 24 hours after the colonic. Vegetables and fruits are better cooked or blended rather that raw. Suggested foods include soups, stews, smoothies, fresh vegetable juices, avocadoes, and any steamed, roasted or baked vegetables. Following these instructions plus drinking ample water will also continue to hydrate your body after the colonic.
The regular pattern of bowel function may be interrupted and may cease temporarily after a treatment. However, regular bowel habits will return once peristalsis is reestablished through the movement of food through the
digestive tract. During the colonic, there is a rinsing out of some of the friendly bacteria as well as the toxic bacteria, yeasts etc. It is important to take a supplemental probiotic after having colon hydrotherapy and continue daily throughout the course of treatments. This will replenish the good bacteria in order to maintain the intestinal bacteria balance.
If bloating is experienced after a treatment, this may be the result of old stool and waste matter being re-hydrated. A quick succession of colonics with the addition of an herbal cleanse will speed up the process of eliminating this condition. Drinking several cups of fresh ginger or fennel seed tea can be helpful.

The number of sessions can vary from person to person, depending on your goals and state of health, level of toxicity, etc. Usually 3-10 colonic sessions in conjunction with supplements and dietary protocol will completely clear the colon. Based on your initial consultation and your first session, we can offer suggestions that will support you to make the optimum choice. One session will not completely empty the colon, as it takes time to rehydrate and soften any dried and layered fecal matter (mucoid plaque) until it is loosened enough to be released.
No. At the most, some people may feel a slight cramping as the colon contracts with the gentle flow of purified water. Most people can feel the speculum, but it is not painful. Clients have the choice of being fully clothed on the top, and either wearing a gown or a pair of disposable shorts, and are draped with a towel for modesty. The room is kept warm to ensure your comfort, and the procedure is discreet and respectful.
To maximize the benefits of your treatment, take the Bioxy Cleanse or the Intestinal Movement Formula before your first session.
Yes, it is safe to receive colon hydrotherapy during the second trimester of pregnancy. However, receiving colon hydrotherapy during the first and third trimester is contraindicated. Having a session during the first trimester could cause a miscarriage and during the third trimester it is possible to cause preterm labor.
After your first session, it is not uncommon to feel a little tired, mild cramping/bloating. You may also have another gentle release post colonic, nothing that would prevent you from going about your normal daily activities though. It is also not uncommon to not have a bowel movement the morning after a productive colonic. Most discomfort post colonic will subside the next day. However, occasionally some clients may feel a little under the weather for around 24 hours. If you have any concerns, or you feel unwell, contact your Colon Therapist at Inner Garden. It is also not uncommon to leave a session light on your feet, with an abundant amount of energy and somewhat euphoric.
Most of the important bowel bacteria are present in the bowel on the bowel wall and are not removed during the session. Since these good bacteria breed best in a balanced environment, a colonic cleanse may actually improve their environment and increase their numbers.
